to sequins…
to the shore. 🐚✨

To be able to dance and move freely in our @ouas.cosplay show, I knew I couldn’t have my legs joined in a traditional mermaid skirt.

Luckily, mermaid pants designs already exist in ballet, and talented performers like @lexiemermaid had created gorgeous examples of what could be achieved. When she offered to help me with the scales, I was beyond excited! We refined and perfected the design together to get the best possible result.

Every scale was hand-placed.

This mermaid has been months in the making… and she finally touched the ocean. 🌊💚

2026 is the new 2016.
And what a beautiful trend it is to look back on what I was doing 10 years ago.

2026 officially marks 20 years since my cosplay debut.

Twenty years of creation, learning, dreaming, falling, getting back up.
Looking back is not about nostalgia only, it’s about understanding where I come from, and remembering how incredibly grateful I am for everything cosplay has brought into my life.

The people I met.
The friendships that shaped me.
The projects, the risks, the failures and the successes.
The mistakes… and the right choices.

Cosplay gave me adventures I never could have imagined.
And most of all, it gave me you. My Nikiteam🤍
